About Us & Our Gleneden Family Farm

The Morris Family - Rohan, Fiona and Eden on the verandah at their home at Gleneden

The Gleneden Family Farm and Working Bullock Team is a family business providing historical and educational displays of our holistic farming practices & management, working bullock team and bush craft skills we've learned along the way. We specialise in on-farm experiences for bus tours, school groups, small groups and families. We also offer eco bush camping.

Another large part of what we do is produce and sell chemical-free produce including meat:

  • 100% grass fed beef
  • Pastured pork
  • Nitrate free meat
  • Sausages, Bacon, etc
  • Small packs and bulk mixed packs available

All our products are nitrate and gluten free. All is raised and grown on our chemical-free farm.

A full list of all the types of meat you can buy from us will be added to our website soon. In the mean time feel free to email us via our contact us page or phone us on (07) 4666 1273 to request our order form or ask questions. We deliver to many areas within Queensland and have drop off points. We've been selling our meat for over 2 years.

We are also available for shows, festivals, heritage days and other events.

The Gleneden Family Farm and Working Bullock Team is owned and operated by the Morris family; Rohan, Fiona and our daughter Eden (born April 2009) and son Jethro (born July 2011). We live on a picturesque 640 acre farm near Maryvale which is only 1.5 hours drive west of Brisbane.

A Little Bit of Info About Our Farm

Our farm has a flowing creek including family-friendly swimming areas, a little waterfall, very large hills (one of them could be considered a mountain), many wonderful picnic areas, amazing views, lush green grass, a variety of camping areas, heaps of places for you to walk... Oh and LOTS of animals! We have goats, varieties of chooks, pigs, cattle, the bullocks plus many other native animals call our property home too. There is so much to see and explore here! There is also a wide variety of birds; if you are a Birdwatcher, you too will love it. We don't allow trail-bikes here either to ensure piece and quiet 24/7 for all that visit or camp here.

We used to be located at the Gleneden Valley, between Gayndah and Mundubbera, 160kms west of Bundaberg. We still have very strong ties to both communities. We relocated to our new property near Maryvale (which is close to Warwick) during December 2016.

About the Morris Family

The Morris Family - Rohan, Fiona, Eden and Jethro at Gleneden

Rohan grew up on the farm in Gleneden (near Gayndah). One of the good friends he grew up with is a guy by the name of Jay Daniells (owner of Green Valley Digital). Jay designed this website for us.

Other than four years in Brisbane studying Applied Science and Education Rohan has always lived in the country somewhere, surrounded by animals. Between being a bullock driver and a farmer, Rohan is also a teacher of Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Agricultural Science.

Always interested in Australian history and animals, Rohan began blacksmithing and leatherwork at age 13, and trained his first pair of bullocks when he was 15. He has learned from the few remaining old bullockies, from books and from a lot of trial and error. Each year Rohan is a volunteer at the annual Heritage Festival at the Jondaryan Woolshed where he demonstrates and shares his knowledge of bullock teams with the visitors there. He also participates in other events.

Fiona is a beach-loving girl from the Central Coast of NSW who also studied in Brisbane - Environmental Science. On the farm she is the gardener, cheesemaker, chook breeder and problem solver of the family. Professionally, Fiona used to work for The Burnett Catchment Care Association where she helped farmers to produce our food and fibre sustainably.

Eden is a kid who loves animals, mud puddles and being involved in everything that’s happening. Jethro’s main interests are milk and food, outdoors and he also enjoys being involved in everything.

The above picture was taken some years ago. We will update it soon :)

We grow good food and we welcome WWOOFers!

We like to live interesting lifes filled with diverse and fulfilling experiences. On our farm, we produce for ourselves as much of our food as we can, ensuring that it comes from happy, healthy and chemical free plants and animals. We like to travel but when we can't get away we have the world coming to us in the form of WWOOFers; they are usually backpackers from around the world who visit us to help on the farm and experience life in Australia. If you'd like to contact us about WWOOFing on our farm send us an enquiry via our contact us page or phone us on (07) 4666 1273.

Farm Tours and Bush Skills Displays

In 2010 we launched a new venture making our bullock team and other heritage skills available to the public for displays on our farm, in the beautiful Gleneden Valley. We also continue to be available off-site for shows, festivals, heritage days, re-enactments, film and television etc. For more information please read below or see our farm displays page.

On-farm Displays for Bus Tours and Schools and other groups.

A bullock driver and student of bush crafts since his teens, Rohan can take you on a journey of discovery into Australia's pioneering past. See an authentic working bullock team, discover the bullocky's secret language and find out if they really did swear a lot.

By request, displays can also include a wide variety of heritage skills - blacksmithing, wheelwrighting, whipmaking and many more. A living window into history Rohan and his mighty bullocks will give you a great experience you will never forget. Find out more...

Event Displays - Shows, Festivals, Heritage Days, Film & Television etc

Rohan the Bullocky and his Bullock Team are also available to travel off the farm to attend public or private events. If you need a bullock team or display of other traditional bush crafts and skills then Rohan is the man for the job.

With many years of bullock driving experience, Rohan and his bullocks have attended a wide variety of events from week long heritage festivals to official openings and historical re-enactments. We always do our best to bring your vision and ideas to reality.
